Lagoon

We had a great time at Lagoon. We try to go at least once a year. The kids love it! Maisey loved the carousel. Tarrin and Kevin went on a lot of the big rides together. Trey's favorite is the big planes over by the rocket and Wyatt likes the log ride. We had a great time together as a family.

Youth Conference

On Saturday it was youth conference. I didn't have a babysitter so the kids were just going to have to come with me. In the morning we did some service projects. There was one going on right around the corner from my house so I just took Trey and Maisey with me. Trey really didn't want to help (no surprise there) but Maisey would pick up weeds bigger than her and throw them in the wheelbarrow. She was such a good little helper. Afterwards everyone went to the Brigham pool to swim. I gave some of the girls a ride there. We had lunch and then I headed home for awhile. After swimming we had dinner at the Stake Center Bowery. We had a speaker who was absolutely awesome and really connected with the youth. After that we had testimony meeting. I won't get to into it but to say I am so proud of the youth in my ward. Their testimonies are so strong and they are such great examples to me. It was such a neat day. I love my calling!

Sugar Glider

I told the kids we were getting no more pets! Well I was wrong we got a sugar glider on Wednesday. If you have no idea what that is you can check out www.sugargliderinfo.org and read about them. Tarrin will be the person that it is most bonded to but it will still be very social with everyone. He is a marsupial and we carry him around in a fleece pouch. When he gets used to us he will ride around in your pocket. We are having lot's of fun with him. We will probably get another one sometime soon because they need friends or they get depressed (a lot like people) Kevin wants to get a female so that we can breed them but I don't know about that. He eats these little pellets that smell like dog food and he eats fruit. I was just happy that I wouldn't be feeding the thing insects or anything. The kids call him S.G and I think the name is going to stick but I'm not sure about it.

Weber County Fair

We went to the Weber County Fair yesterday. We went in the afternoon after Kev and the boys got haircuts. We walked around and looked at the booths and all of the animals. It was fun and the kids really enjoyed it. Of course we had some yummy greasy fair food while we were there. We even picked up our newest addition to our family but more to come about that later. Later on we came back to enjoy the rodeo. It was a lot of fun and the kids loved watching the cowboys get kicked off the bulls and horses. It was fun entertainment!

60 & 70

Yesterday Kevin's dad and my dad had birthday's. My dad turned 70 and Kevin's dad turned 60. It's nice having their birthdays on the same day. It makes it so I don't have to remember as much:) On Saturday my family met at Famous Dave's in Layton for dinner. It was supposed to be a surprise but my dad found out ahead of time. Kevin was able to come and meet us there. I can't believe my dad is 70! We had a good time. I am glad that through all of my dad's scary medical stuff he is still alive and kicking. I love him so much! On Sunday we headed up to Logan for a surprise birthday party for Kevin's dad. We had it over at Michelle's new house. I don't think he suspected much until they drove up and he saw my kids on the swing set and was wondering why we didn't stop by there house and say hello. He then saw the balloons and knew what was going on. We had a good time with the family and ate a yummy dinner(Rob had smoked some pulled pork and it was awesome!) It was a great couple of birthdays and I'm so thankful for the two dad's in my life.

Bee Sting

I don't know how many times I tell my kids to not mess with the bee's and without fail they think they can mess with them and someone always gets stung. Yesterday Trey was swinging around a stick by some wasps and all of a sudden I hear him screaming, running down the street. I was out pulling weeds and here is comes crying. The wasp had stung his lip and it was already swelling up. I gave him some benedryl and we put ice on it but the swelling didn't go down for a couple of hours. Both him and our neighbor Dallin got stung yesterday. I wonder when they will ever learn. I Have told them at least a hundred times not to go by them and Kev is out there always spraying down the nests but they are everywhere. I think Trey will stay away from the wasps for at least a couple of days.

What's going on

I think things are finally winding down a little. I have been buying school clothes and getting ready to send the kids back to school. I can't believe we will only have a few more weeks. On Tuesday when Kev got off work we went to the first annual food festival in Ogden. It was awesome! I love food festivals, It reminded me a little bit of the Rib cook off in Reno. You bought tickets and went around and bought food and they had a lot of samples. I loved the bread pudding sample from Roosters. That stuff is so good and I haven't had it for awhile. They had dancers and entertainment. The weather was really hot but we really enjoyed eating(who doesn't) There are so many yummy restaurants downtown. We had the neatest storm on Saturday. The kids and I sat out on the porch and watched the rain and stared at the beautiful rainbow in the sky. Maisey was so excited and kept saying "So pretty, mom"

A lady at Kevin's work makes this cute little crochet hats. You can change the color of the flower on the front. It is so cute and fits perfectly.

Maisey woke up this morning and said "Mom I want a pancake so big to the sky" Sorry such a random post.
