Maisey's Dance Recital

Maisey has loved taking dance! She loves her teacher and being with her friends. I have never seen her be more excited about anything. She had her first dance recital on Tuesday and did a great job! It was so neat to see all of the cute girls in their costumes and all dressed up. Maisey group was the Twinkles and they were so dang cute! I loved her cute costume with the little star on the front. They danced to Twinkle, Twinkle little star. Most of them did there own thing which was cute to watch.

Afterwards they got a medal and a certificate of completion. Kevin got Maisey some yellow Daises. We have just loved her teacher and effort that she has put into everything. I don't know what's going on with those dance slippers, I think they are a little too big! Maisey was a little grumpy when it was over and was hungry and ready for bed. We went and got some dinner at her favorite place The Olive Garden and headed home to put her in bed.

When I was taking some pictures, she wanted to show me some of her jumps. She is so silly!

Maisey is in the front on the left side. We are so proud of you Maisey!

Easter

The kids woke up easter morning and went and found their easter baskets. The boys got lots of candy, lego guys, and nerf blaster guns which they haven't stopped playing with since they got them. Maisey got lots of candy, egss filled with bracelets and a princess barbie with a horse. She loves combing the hair on the pony. They kids were so happy and had way too much candy. They still had a ton left over from the Farr West egg hunt the day before. Later we went to Logan to my SIL Tara's house and had a scavenger hunt with the older kids and the regular Easter egg hunt with the little kids. The kids are running to get to the next clue.

After the claimed their prizes.

Trey and Maisey were part of the little kids and had a blast searching for eggs. You can see how much fun Trey had getting eggs. His face says it all!

The Easter bunny brought the kids big bubble blowers. The kids had so much fun blowing bubbles, even my niece Kenzie got in on the action!

What a beautiful fun day!

Twelve Years!

Yesterday was our twelve year anniversary. My Mom came down and watched the kids so we could go spend the day just the two of us. We went down to Provo and had some lunch and then to see the Carl Block paintings that were being displayed at the university. They were absolutely amazing! I am so glad that Kevin suggested that we go. The man is amazing and his attention to detail is fantastic! It was such a wonderful experience and his paintings of the Savior were breathtaking. I really can't put into words how neat they were. If you get a chance, go and see them before they leave. After we saw the paintings they had some pictures that Dorthea Lange had done displayed in another area. It was neat to see some of her work displayed. I have one of her photography quotes on the back of my business card. After that we headed back to Layton to see a movie and go to dinner. It was such a fun time and I didn't want it to end. Love ya Kev!

Skype with Shawn

My little brother Shawn is in Afghanistan and finally got Skype. So on Wednesday I took Maisey and Trey with me and headed up to Logan so my parents could skype with Shawn. My SIL was so nice to let my parents, me and my sister Amanda come over and Skype with Shawn. It was so good to see him! He is gaining some weight which is great because he's always been such a twig and he seems to be happy. He is enjoying volunteering and helping with the Afghan children. I want to thank my siblings and my sweet SIL who donated clothes, hair bows, etc. for Shawn to give to the children. I could tell my parents were just ecstatic to be able to see their little boy. Thanks Tara for allowing us to come over to your place! Your the best!

After dance fun!

So most often after Maisey gets done with dance, her and her friend Cloe want to play. We switch off between our two houses. One of us stays home and makes sure our kindergartner's Trey and Braden make it home from kindergarten while the other one takes and picks up the girls from dance. Today they wanted ice cream cones after their lunch. I wish it was warmer outside!

Bugs and sidewalk chalk

What a nice day to have some fun outside and play. The kids went looking for bugs. Maisey wasn't especially fond of the spider Trey caught for her and put in her bug collector. She made sure to hold it very far away.

The kids had fun with sidewalk chalk. Tarrin and friends Zoe and Mia drew for hours and had lots of fun. Mia drew a butterfly and wrote Maisey's name in big pink letters. Maisey thought that was really cool.

Later Maisey came him with a brownie my neighbor Heidi gave her. It is so cute how much she loves Heidi. The other day she told me she wanted to go see if Mia could play. I told her that Mia was at school so she would have to wait until later. She just said that's okay I will go and see if Heidi can play. I thought it was so cute! Maisey doesn't care if Heidi isn't a kid and Heidi had her come in and they played a couple of board games together. I just love how sweet my neighbors are to my kids.

I love to Laugh!

So last weekend we went to the stake date night. It was awesome! We had a yummy dinner and listened to Matt Townsend. He was absolutely hilarious! He is a relationship and communication expert and one funny, funny man! By the end of the night my cheeks were hurting from laughing so much. I don't think I have laughed that much in a long time. Besides being so funny he taught a lot of great things about better communicating and the overall importance of marriage. It was a fun night spent with my hubby and friends and lots of laughter.

Last night we went to see Josh Blue at Wiseguys in Ogden. He is one of the winners of last comic standing if you ever watched that show. It was really funny! Kev took a picture with his phone of me and Josh but it was pretty dark and didn't really turn out. My SIL's Tara and Kim came down with their husbands and we went and had a yummy dinner at Roosters and then had a blast at the comedy club. It was such a fun night and something we hope to do more often. It's rare that we get to go out just as couples so we are going to try and start a tradition of getting together more often.

I'm getting implants!

He, he, Sometimes I think I am so funny! No really I am getting one implant and it is a tooth implant. I had a root canal that the crown kept coming off and the tooth on the side cracked so the dentist told me it would probably be best to get an implant. Well I went to my consultation and they will pull the tooth and graph it but then you have to wait four to six months to get the implant in place. Since I am getting braces in May they will wait until the braces come off to do the implant. Yes I know I was going to get braces a couple of years ago and didn't end up going through with it but it's set for the 19th of May. Yes Mandy I will be a braceface for over a year but then I will have beautiful straight teeth and he's throwing in the teeth whitening so I can have beautiful straight gleaming white teeth. Well maybe not gleaming but white and it's something I have always wanted.
Tarrin got his retainer in today. It is his favorite color black and they put a Nintendo logo on it with Mario. Tarrin thought it was so cool! He needs a few teeth pulled and and in a couple of years when all his teeth have grown in he will get braces. The retainer will pull his teeth together and in place so he will have room for some of the ones coming in. He is talking a little funny but is starting to get used to it. I worry a little about him loosing it but he's pretty responsible. I've heard all of the stories of kids throwing them away at lunch time and I defiantly do not want to spend another seven hundred dollars.
I mowed the lawn today! I know it's supposed to rain and snow tomorrow but it felt great to get out in the sunshine and do a little yard work. The kids helped pull some weeds and now they are running around with their neighborhood friends. Fun times!
