Results

Well after waiting over an hour and a half I saw my doctor and its a stress fracture of the femoral head... and some ligament damage. It will take at least three to four months to heal. If I would use crutches it would heal faster so we will see... I hate the dang things! 

Maisey's first haircut

Maisey had her first haircut today! She's four and a half and it was time to get rid of those ends. We went up to Aunt Carol's house in Huntsville and Heidi and Elena met us up there. Afterwards we went and got some lunch and took it to the park. It was nice to catch up and the girls had a good time playing!

3 brothers, 1 sister, 1 SIL and hubby and lots of awesome friends!

It was hard for me to watch everyone run the marathon but I am so proud of my family and friends that ran it this year. Kevin's knee didn't work after about five miles and he had to stop. It was really frustrating for him and it sucks that this year it just wasn't going to happen for us. I have him going to see my doctor next week so hopefully when can figure out all of these dumb injuries! My brother Jeremy who was told not to run from his doctor due to his back did an amazing job and came in at 1:41. It was his first half marathon. My brother Chris who is pushing fifty also did great and came in around 2:07. I talked to him the night before and he really was worried about how he was going to do and he did great! My sister Amanda came in just seconds after 2:00 and told me never to ask her to do it again! It's funny because they all say that but I have heard a couple of them say they might do it again next year. I guess it takes a couple of days after to event think about next year. My brother James ran it for the first time and his wife Kari also did it! Kari broke her toe a couple of months ago and was only about to train for a few weeks. She did awesome and came in at 1:54. I was worried James would kill me for talking me into doing it but he says maybe next year and fourty pounds lighter. It sucks that I wasn't able to run but Kevin kept telling me its the journey and not the destination. As I look back I think he may be right. I had a great time training with Misti and Tiffany and most importantly Kevin. Even though we don't have the same pace it was nice to go run in the mornings together.

We saw Jeremy first and it was fun to see him running down from the canyon.

This Sucks!

I went yesterday to see the Orthopedic Surgeon that Basic Sports Medicine had referred me to. I am still limping and having some pain but have felt a lot better in the last couple of days. The doctor checked me out and thinks I have a hip stress fracture. I had some x-rays done and you couldn't see anything which is common so he would like me to get a MRI done. He wanted me to go off of my anit- inflammatory and muscle relaxers to see if it was just masking my pain. Last night it was bothering me quit a bit but since I don't know for sure I'm just going to see what the next couple of days bring. I'm okay to do other things other then running but Its just upsetting when I have so many friends and family running the race and I've trained for so long. I have had a couple of good cries which I know is so stupid but I have gotten this far and it just sucks! 

First day of School

Yeah! First day of school! The kids were excited to go back even though Trey doesn't look like it. He is so much like his dad! 

My brother Jeremy got here last night for his week of playing golf with my other brother James. He is running the TOU on Saturday with us.

Summer Dance

Another year of Summer dance and Maisey had so much fun! I love how low key it is and Maisey loves to see her friends from church. This year the 4-5 year old class was supposed to have their hair crimped in a ponytail. I haven't used a crimper since middle school so I was in luck and my neighbor Aneesa had one from high school that still worked. Maisey loved looking in the mirror and watching as her hair got crimped. It was fun to watch the girls and Maisey just loves her summer dance teacher Raechel!

Frustrated!

Couldn't even use my right leg after my 8 mile run yesterday! Went to the doctor and have Tendonitis! Got a shot of Toradol so I am able to use my leg today since I have a wedding to shoot. Doc. told me not to run the marathon but I have trained for ten weeks! So Extremely FRUSTRATED! I am going to take it easy and hopefully I can do it but its looking like this might be the last one that I do:( On a brighter note had a great time with friends last night!

Beautiful Nieces

My SIL Tara needed to get some pics done of her girls so we had them come down and have dinner with us and get their pictures done. Maisey would not leave her uncle Rob alone and wanted to play with him the whole time they were here. She has been talking nonstop about when she gets to play with Rob again. It is so cute! I just love these girls. They are the sweetest things ever!

Training

Yesterday morning I went for a run with my running buddies Misti and Tiffany. We are almost done with our training for the TOU half marathon and when we reached an area over in Plain City we were swarmed with mosquitos! There were everywhere and biting me through my capri running shorts. We kept running hoping it was just a bad area and it didn't stop so luckily Misti had her cell phone and I called and woke up Kevin to come get us. He took us to a different area to finish up are running for the day. The kids counted thirty eight bites on my legs and then I have some on my neck and arms. I'm sure we looked funny hitting all the mosquitos off each other as we ran. It was horrible and I will not run that way again this year!

Anytime is a good time for face painting!

Maisey ran off with Zoe who is ten years old for a minute after dance today and next thing I know she comes home with her face painted! She was so happy with her butterfly face that matches her dance outfit! It looks like Zoe is taking after her talented parents.

Cabin Fun!

We went to Kevin's parents cabin a couple of weeks ago. On our way up to the cabin we saw this moose and her baby and then we saw another moose and a ton of deer. The kids were super excited! We had a nice relaxing time and my sister and her family came up the next day and we had a fun time visiting with each other and playing games.

Cousins

We had fun doing some fun pictures for cousin Elena today! I was happy we did a couple of pictures of the girls together.

Young Womens Craft

I saw this on pinterest and just had to do it with the young women in my ward. I knew they were getting close to going to camp and thought it would be such a fun craft for the girls to do. Lori Cash was great to cut the wood and have the girls mod poge their pictures to it. I just love the words and all that it represents. It brought me to tears to see all the girls with their plaques. Here is a couple of the girls plaques and all of them together. I love it!
